Three words that matter before you start:

Creating a new schedule

A schedule defines who is on call and when. It belongs to a team and can hold one or more rotations. As you set it up, a live Rotation Preview on the right shows how shifts will be distributed before you save.

  1. Go to the Schedules tab and click Create new schedule (top-right).

  2. In the Schedule window, fill in:

  3. Set up the first rotation:

Tip: Whoever is next on call gets a shift-start notification 30 minutes before their shift begins by default. An org admin can change this lead time — or turn it off to notify right at the start instead — in Administration → Org Config. See Organization Config.

  4. To add another rotation, click + Add rotation and repeat step 3. (Skip this for a single-rotation schedule.)

  5. Check the Rotation Preview on the right — rotation cycle, shift duration, coverage (with a warning if gaps are found), and a calendar of each member's shifts.

  6. Click Create Schedule.

The schedule page: viewing and editing

Open any schedule from OnCall → Schedules. The page has two parts: the schedule views on the left, and a config panel on the right for editing.
