Vibe AI allows you to manage on-call operations, alerts, and incidents directly from Slack using natural language. Rather than navigating the Vibe OnCall dashboard, you can ask questions, take actions, and get explanations conversationally.

This article documents the full range of supported interactions, organized by capability area.

Note: Write actions (creating overrides, modifying policies, acknowledging alerts, etc.) require the appropriate role permissions. Actions marked Admin only require an Admin or Manager role.

1. On-Call Scheduling

Ask questions about current coverage

What you can ask Example
Who is on call right now "Who's on call right now?"
Who is on call for a specific service or team "Who's on call for the payments service this weekend?"
Who is primary vs. secondary "Who is primary vs. secondary right now?"
Who is the backup for a team "Who's on backup for the infra team?"
What the schedule looks like next week "What does the infra on-call schedule look like next week?"
Who was on call at a specific past time "Who was on call last night at 2am for the backend team?"
Whether coverage exists for a date or holiday "Do we have coverage for Thanksgiving?"
Which teams have no backup "Which teams have no backup on call?"
Whether a coverage gap exists if someone is out "Is there a gap if Alex goes OOO next week?"
Why you are being paged "Why am I getting paged right now?"
Breakdown of on-call hours and shifts by person for a team and time period "Give me the breakdown of shifts and on-call hours by person in Vibranium Labs over March 2026."
Total on-call hours for a team in a given period "How many on-call hours did the infrastructure team log last month?"
Who had the most on-call hours "Who had the most on-call hours in Q1?"
Average on-call hours per person "What's the average on-call hours per person for the payments team this month?"

Tip: When your organization has multiple teams or schedules, specify the team or schedule name in your question for the most accurate results.

Modify schedules (Admin only)

What you can do Example
Swap shifts between two people "Swap my on-call shift with Alex tomorrow."
Promote someone to primary for a window "Make Jay primary instead of secondary tonight."
Add someone as backup for specific dates "Add Jay as backup on weekends."
Remove yourself from a shift "Remove me from on-call next Friday."
Extend a shift by a given duration "Extend my on-call shift by one day."
Assign someone to a service for a period "Put Sang on call for the API service this week."
Create a new schedule "Create a follow-the-sun schedule for the infra team."

Note: Vibe AI will ask clarifying questions when needed — for example, which schedule to modify when multiple exist, or who should cover a shift being vacated.
