Vibe AI automatically builds and maintains a running summary of every incident from the moment it is created to the moment it is resolved. This living summary serves as the foundation for a postmortem — and can be shaped into a structured document on demand using natural language.

The Living Summary

Every incident detail page includes a Summary panel that Vibe AI generates and continuously updates throughout the incident lifecycle. This is not a one-time snapshot — it evolves as new context arrives.

As Slack threads accumulate, meeting transcripts are added, and state changes are recorded, Vibe AI synthesizes all of it into an up-to-date narrative that reflects the current state of the incident. By the time an incident is resolved, the summary already contains a comprehensive account of what happened.

The summary draws on:

• Incident timeline & state changes — all status transitions, who made them, and when
• Slack thread discussions — every message from every associated thread across all monitored channels
• Meeting transcripts — full transcriptions from any Google Meet or Zoom calls Vibe AI joined during the incident

Generating a Postmortem on Demand

Beyond the auto-generated summary, you can ask Vibe AI to produce a structured postmortem at any time — during or after the incident — using the Ask Vibe tab on the incident detail page or from Slack.

You can specify exactly how you want the postmortem structured:

By template:

• "Write a postmortem in the format: Summary, Timeline, Root Cause, Impact, Action Items."

By specific questions:

• "What was the root cause of this incident?"
• "What was the customer impact and for how long?"
