What It Does

Alert mute temporarily stops repeat paging for a single alert.

Use it when you already know about an alert and want to avoid more pager notifications for a short period while you investigate.

Where You Can Use It

You can mute an alert from the pager message you receive in:

• Slack
• Microsoft Teams

Available Mute Durations

You can choose one of these preset windows:

• 15 minutes
• 30 minutes
• 1 hour
• 3 hours
• 6 hours

How It Works

When you mute an alert:

1. The mute applies to that specific alert only.
2. The pager message is updated to show Pager muted until with the end time.
3. New occurrences of the same alert during that mute window are still tracked, but they do not trigger another page.
4. Once the mute window expires, future occurrences can page responders again.
