When Slack cannot return the full channel list—for example, in a large workspace or during rate limiting—you can still add a destination by entering its channel ID or pasting a Slack link. Vibe checks that channel directly, so you do not need to wait for the complete workspace list.

Use this fallback anywhere the Slack channel picker appears. The steps below use an Automation Action as the example.

Before you start

A channel ID usually starts with C or G, such as C0B3JEWQ86T. To use a link, open the channel or message in Slack and select Copy link.

Add the channel

  1. Go to Settings → Shared Resources → Automation Actions.
  2. Create an automation action, or edit one that sends a notification to Slack.
  3. Open the Slack channel picker.
  4. Paste the channel ID or Slack link into the search field.
  5. If Checking… appears, wait for the check to finish. Then select Use <channel name> or Use <channel ID>.

The manual entry remains available while the workspace channel list is loading or unavailable.

  1. Finish the action setup and select Save.
